Meet Mel

Hi, I’m Mel…

A photographer, former teacher, psychology student and master of capturing the good stuff… the chaos, the quiet, the closeness.

I’ve been holding a camera professionally since 2008, but the real story started earlier, somewhere between wrangling my own three kids, finding magic in ordinary moments and realising that the things we remember most are rarely posed.

I’ve learned to sense what matters most. The love, the connection, the shift when someone relaxes, the spark between people when they forget the camera’s even there. I don’t just take photos. I notice the way your child leans in for comfort, the smirk before the belly laugh, the stillness that lives inside the noise.

My sessions? About 10% posed (you’ll thank me for those fridge-worthy shots), 50% softly and gently led, and the rest completely el natural — real moments, real connection, real you.

You’ll often spot me zipping around Noosa with my fluffy assistant Oreo in tow, either on my Vespa or tucked into the front seat of my tiny-but-fabulous mint Fiat. Or you’ll see me swimming in the ocean, climbing a local mountain or running the Noosa Park Run.

I love working with families, creatives, and people who want to capture the truth, not just the highlight reel. And yes, I will absolutely tear up if your toddler says something profound or your dog steals the show. That’s just part of the service.
